Exersaucer

I have been putting Olivia in her exersaucer about twice a day now. She is really liking to touch the toys and there is even one that she plays with! It has 3 different colored wheels and she can spin them with her little hands to make them make noise! It was so exciting the first time I heard her do it! She is a little small for the thing but I just put a blanket behind her! Her toys are starting to touch the bottom if she leans to one side.....
My toes aren't any where near the ground Mommy!
I'm a big girl playing with the toys!

My little Boilermaker!

We had a superbowl gettogether with some of our friends and since we aren't really attached to any football team I decided to dress Olivia up in her Purdue attire. We picked to cheer for the Steelers since they are black and gold as well!

Here is my little Boilermaker!! She has some super cute Purdue stuff thanks to Chris and Annie!

She even has little Purdue socks!

1-28-09
We had a big snow/ice storm the day before and that day. Most people in the area lost power but we were lucky and only lost it for 1 hour in the middle of the night. Of course I was freaking out and wanted to bring Olivia to our bed so she didn't freeze to death but Jacob talked some sense into me. I don't even think the temperature dropped 2 degrees in our house. Olivia didn't wake up and never knew anything happened! Jacob went to work that morning and get sent home so being the wonderful husband he is he went and got my mom and brought her to our house. She lost power the night before and didn't get it turned back on for 5 more days!!! So Mom and I had fun with Olivia that Wednesday. We took pictures of her first snow! Once again something she wasn't too sure about but LuLu sure does love it. She would just run and run and run in circles.

The snow was up to her knees!

There were so many neat things to take pictures of with all of the ice covering them. I am defintely not a photographer but I had fun stompin around the yard in my boots to take pictures of it all.
That day my mom and I spent about an hour trying to get Olivia to roll over. Of course she wouldn't but this is what I woke up to the next morning when she got up at 4:30 to eat. I was so excited so I woke Jacob and my mom up to come look. Olivia wasn't too happy about it and was fussing much louder than normal but I still had to take the time to take a picture!

Olivia's Baptism

1-25-09

We had Olivia baptised at my church, Chandler Cumberland Presbyterian Church, on Jan 25. Most all of our family and friends were there. It was wonderful. I had her gown made out of my wedding dress and it was beautiful. The lady who made it did a wonderful job.

My mom and dad bought her a bonnet to wear that day that will turn into a hanky for her to carry on her wedding day. I thought that was a very special gift! She wasn't so sure about it on her head though!

Olivia and her godparents

Uncle Matthew and Aunt Vanessa

Scott, Olivia Claire, and Claire

Not only do they have matching name but they have matching jewelry too! My parents got Olivia that braclet in Colorado when they went this past summer.

After church we had a party at our house. Yummy soups, sandwhiches, and desserts! I snapped this picture during it all. I guess they were both tired :)

Titzer Chili Cook

1-17-09

This was the night of the annual Titzer Chili Cook. It was the 26th year and it was now back at the Titzer Farm in the new shop. Their new shop is super nice. Really big and they rented round tables so everyone could visit easier! We ate yummy food and played dominoes and it was really fun. Olivia was a party girl and stayed up until 12:30am! Uncle Matthew was the one who finally got her to sleep. She was really good most of the night though except 2 times. One when my Uncle Mike told her that when she was ready for college he would take her up to Bloomington. Well that didn't make her happy, she stuck out her lower lip and was ready to wail! Of course she's already a little Boilermaker!!!!! The other time was when my mom was changing her clothes and Kathy told her she had a fat belly. Boy that didn't make her happy :) I'm glad she's finally chubbin' up!

Olivia in her adorable pig shirt made my Carla Schenk

Where's Olivia??

There she is! Silly Uncle Matthew!!

back to work!

1-13-09

The first night I went back to work since having Olivia! For me the night was great. It was fun to catch up on all the work gossip and to see the girls I hadn't seen in 10 weeks. For Jacob, well that's a different story. He called me around 6:15am the next morning but I was busy so Kyla (a girl I work with that Jacob went to high school with) answered my phone and talked to him. He told her that Olivia made it to the babysitter ALIVE. He said looking back on the night it really wasn't that bad but in the moment it was horrible! Apparently she cryed a lot for him. She did take her bottles well for him and she loves her bath. Here are some pictures of her in the morning before he took her to daycare.

dressed and ready

in her car seat already back to sleep!

Catching Up

So I suck at keeping this up so there will be many updates written today :)

1-10-09

Angela and I decided we wanted baby slings and figured we were crafty enough to make them ourselves so we loaded up our babies and went to JoAnn's and picked out fabric. I also decided I wanted to make Olivia a little taggies blanket so I got the materials to make that too! We went back to Angela's and made a practice sling to make sure we could do it without messing up. Well we could! But in the process the sewing machine broke. So we cut out the fabric and called it a day. The next day Olivia and I went to Vanessa's to finish up and couldn't figure out how to make the sling without turning it into a pillow case. Well the next day we figured it out and here is the finished product! It's a little long and I still haven't shortened it but it serves its purpose :)

Here's a picture of Olivia and Aunt Vanessa while mommy sewed!

Since I've only sewed about 3 things in my entire life I made a teeny tiny practice of the tag blanket too! Here is a picture of Olivia holding onto it. I think she likes it!
Hopefully I will get around the making the bigger version of the blanket sometime soon!
